The Tam-a-lau Trailhead is located within the Cove Palisades State Park and is a rocky area of boulders underneath towering cliffs.  There are reasonable inclines on the trail and around the trailhead.  Unlike many other rocky trails, there are few rattlesnakes in the area (they seem to stay away from humans).  Treescape is Juniper.

This is a great place to shoot as it is close to a sizable parking area, making it easy for cast and crew.

Permits must be obtained through the Cove Palisades State Park at least 30 days in advance.  COFO can assist.

Koosah Falls is located along the McKenzie Pass-Santiam Pass and West Cascades National Scenic Byways off Highway 126.

Koosah Falls, also known as Middle Falls, is the second of the three major waterfalls on the McKenzie River in the heart of the Willamette National Forest. Permits for filming must be done through the park ranger at least 30 days in advance.

 The waterfall is notable for its main drop of 64 feet (20 m) that plunges into a considerable pool, one of the deepest of all waterfalls in the region.

The Falls are an easy walk from a small parking area with a toilet.  There is RV parking on the main road coming into the Falls area and then limited parking near the trailhead.

There are three overlook points to see the Falls. One above the Falls, and two alongside.

These images are taken from the lower forest area of the Jacobs Ranch, located approximately 15 minutes from downtown Bend.

This private property has a lower forested area with old growth juniper and a dusty road through the middle with boulders on one side.

From the top of the boulders there are stunning views of the Three Sisters Mountains, and Mount Jefferson.  There are several houses in the distance that would need to be removed if you need a clear line of sight.

Base Camp is available in the upper field, an easy walk from the forested area.

There are no facilities for production’s use.  Toilets and water would need to be brought in.

This meadow and land includes a stage, with electrical and water.  The City of LaPine hosts Frontier Days here every July 4, so it is unavailable that week.  There is a long dirt path through the center of the property coming from a grove of trees.

Permission and location fee required, and handled by the LaPine Chamber.

John Fremont Meadow is located at the far end of Shevlin Park. It is approximately a 40 minute leisurely walk from the main parking area. It is located along Tumalo Creek.  These images were taken early April – the meadow would be green in early Summer.

There is a standard forest toilet on site (primative) and the road can be opened to allow production vehicles.

City of Bend Park and Recreation require permits for film use.  Please allow for at lease one month permitting process, particularly in the Summer.
