Scout Camp Trail loop is a stunning area of the Middle Deschutes River, in Terrebone, approximately an hour from Bend. The trail is quite steep, and prone to Rattle Snakes.
About a third of a mile from the trailhead, the trail descends steeply into the Deschutes River Canyon. Alternatively, you can wak approximately a 1/4 of a mile from the trailhead to the left and the cliff-face gives you panoramic views of the Deschutes River.
Limited parking. No facilities. Take plenty of water.
Permits must be applied for at least 30 days in advance through the BLM.
